Well, maybe not a channel exactly. On YouTube, I have just one channel, The Skint Expat / Mighty Grē-gør, or something like that. I’m adding Moron Cooking to that. I guess it’s more like a new series of videos.
I cook for myself. I occasionally order a delivery, but usually, I make my own dinner. So what do I cook? Really, stupidly, simple meals.
To tell the truth, I’m taking a rare day off tomorrow, and I’m going to explore a nearby shopping mall that has a Carrefour supermarket (possibly a hypermarket; Carrefours in China are all hypermarkets). It’s in a flasher neighborhood so I’m hoping to find TV dinners there, or the like. Maybe that’s an old-fashioned word. You know, full, self-contained meals that you can just take out of the box and heat up in the oven. There are (or were, anyway) several brands to choose from. The Healthy Choice brand comes to mind, and I seem to remember those being pretty good.
My hopes are high, but my expectations are very low. Availability of stuff here is kind of sketchy. But we’ll see.
Anyway, in the meantime, I’ll just be cooking my own meals, as I have done for years now. I’ve started making videos about this. I’ve already made a few, but I’ve decided to start branding the cooking ones. People seem to like stupid videos, and it seems as though I have a particular talent for those, so why not play to my strengths?
What will I make? Well, that would be spoilers, though I’ve already made videos about making an American-style burrito, Buffalo wings, boiling frozen Khinkali (which was more of a review, but that’s the intelligence level of Moron Cooking that you can expect), and fake carne asada. Mexican is going to be a bit of a theme seeing as how that’s mostly what I know how to cook. But I believe I might add spaghetti bolognese and even a hamburger. You’ll LOVE my spaghetti “recipe” so watch out for that one. I don’t have much to add right now, except that I’m typing this on Christmas Day 2023…whoops. Now it’s Boxing Day. I had a nap today so I can stay up a bit. But anyway, happy X-mas to everyone, Watch for a New Year post, which will definitely be coming on New Year’s Eve. For now, I’m gonna close this one out. I know it’s a short one, but there you go. Happy whatever holiday(s) you celebrate this time of year. Mine is actually the winter solstice, but what the hell? Maybe I’ll tell you about that later on.
